FAQ
Q: Can we discounts on Disney hotels?
A: Yes, through Disney we were given several offers. Depending on the level of room anywhere from 15% off to 53%. For the deeper discounts it was on the top level rooms and guaranteeing at least 10 rooms. The lower discounts are for the least expensive rooms and you needed to book at 5-10 rooms but could change your number within a certain date and not be required to pay for all 10. With these deals you also get discounted tickets for entry into the park after the tournament each day...about half price.
Q: Are caddies allowed?
A: No, this is a championship level tournament, caddies are not allowed.
Q: Will my kid be paired with other kids his/her age, grade or level? If level, how is that determined?
Pairings will be by age; 12U, 14U and 15+.
Q: Are we required to stay at the resort?
A: Not at all, players and their families can stay on or off the Disney property
Q: What skill level is required to participate.
A: As this is our first year, we have no specific handicap requirements. It is suggested that boys shoot at least 100 or less for 18 holes and girls 110 or less.
Q: Are there any specific religious requirements to be eligible for this tournament
A: There are no religious requirements, we simply require that all players be “homeschooled”.
Q: Are there any specific rules that will be used
A: We will be playing by the 2019 USGA rules. It is likely that there will be a pick up limit of 9 to help with pace of play.
Q: Are medalists allowed, or is it team play only?
A: Yes, there is team and individual play. For any player who is not part of a team, they can still compete as an individual. Team players can compete as a team and each player on the team as an individual.
Q: What is considered a team?
A: Generally, a team is 4 to 5 players (minimum 4) of the same gender and age bracket. Many teams may not be able to field 4 players and if we find that there are many small teams, we may reduce the requirements for a to be fewer than 4 players or we may allow teams to be made up from different age and gender groups to make it more competitive at the team level.
04/03/2019: We have decided to allow mixed gender and mixed age teams. Each player shall play from their age and gender specified tee markers.
Q: How many players are allowed.
A: We are targeting about 70 players, but the field will be limited to about 100 players.
Q: Are push carts allowed?
A: Push carts are allowed for juniors only at this course. They are not provided.. We are playing Palm on Monday and Magnolia on Tuesday.
Q: Will there be practice rounds available.
A: We encourage players to play practice rounds, but due to the various arrival times of players and the logistics required to setup practice rounds, we will not have specific time slots setup practice rounds. Players and parents should contact the golf courses directly to setup practice rounds.
